It is Community Club Awareness Week. This year community clubs have combined to reclaim clubs’ position as “the original social network”. Community clubs used to be the cornerstone of society and with the advancements in technology, we are supposed to be more connected than ever. In many instances, this could not be further from the truth.
The Aspley Hornets understand the difficulties that Covid 19 has brought in 2020 and 2021 and believe as a community, now is the pinnacle time to band together in creating the best environment for our local area. Research shows social connectedness, creates higher levels of well-being, benefiting emotional health in areas such as self-esteem and self-efficiency. As a community, we need to address the national decline in mental health due to the ongoing isolations brought about through the Covid 19 pandemic.
As a non-for-profit organisation, it is our obligation to provide our surrounding area the support that is needed. We understand the importance of providing our Football system and club to increase social capital and overall bring our community together. Our mission is to continuously create strong relationships with our local businesses, members, and anyone who wants to be involved in the Aspley Hornets family. We believe joining your local club supplies the glue that unites strong and healthy communities.
Our members are the heart of the Aspley Hornets and want you all to feel valued and know that we have an open door policy to ensure our neighbourhood is as connected as ever.
