Eden Sheridan, from Queensland’s Aspley Hornets NAB AFL Auskick Centre, became the envy of all Auskickers on Friday when she was announced as the weekly nominee for the 2021 NAB AFL Auskicker of the Year competition.
Eden said she was really happy to be chosen and super excited.
“I liked being interviewed by Hamish, I was excited because this is my first interview. I remember that Hamish asked lots of questions! I can’t wait to see my (Auskick) interview.“
Eden’s father, Michael said he was grateful for Eden’s nomination, and really appreciated the opportunity and support that NAB and Channel 7 continue to provide young kids like our daughter Eden, who have dreams and aspirations of playing AFL or AFLW when they grow up.
The NAB AFL Auskicker of the Year competition calls for 2021 registered and truly awesome participants of the NAB AFL Auskick program to enter for the chance to become one of the weekly nominees.
Weekly nominees are announced during the Seven Network’s Friday night match broadcast, with Eden being announced during the Round 22 2021 Toyota AFL Premiership Season match between Richmond Tigers and Greater Western Sydney Giants.
Eden will have the seriously amazing once in a lifetime opportunity to present an AFL premiership player with their medal on Toyota AFL Grand Final Day.
She will join other lucky NAB AFL Auskicker of the Year weekly nominees in Melbourne for an unforgettable experience playing on the hallowed turf of the MCG at half-time on Grand Final day.
It only gets better for Eden too, as she now has the chance to be crowned the overall NAB AFL Auskicker of the Year which will be announced during Toyota AFL Grand Final Week.
The super lucky 2021 NAB AFL Auskicker of the Year winner will receive $5,000 in a NAB Reward Saver Account plus Geelong Football Club captain, Joel Selwood, and AFLW star Katie Brennan, as their personal footy mentors in 2022.
