“Froggy” Becomes 4th Life Member

Congratulations to Rodney “Froggy” Weller who has become the 4th Aspley Hornet to become a Football Life Member.

He was presented his Life Membership jacket during half time of the round 19 NEAFL Match against the Southport Sharks at Graham Road.

Rodney played for the club between 1978 and 1989, playing 209 games and winning 3 premierships, one of which he captained. He was a member of the self named “super six” back line during the 1980’s playing at Center Half Back before moving into a Back Pocket later in his Career.  Described by team mates as a great team man and true competitor, Froggy was a consistent performer during his entire career.

He joins his brother Terry, Michael Walters and Keith Hill as one of only 4 Football Life members at the club. To be eligible for football life membership a player must play 200 Senior A-Grade games at the club.

The Club would like to congratulate Rondey on his Life Membership and thank him for his many years of service to the Football Club.
