Alexander the Great!

Untitled Design

Coming from humble beginnings, Alex started his football journey as an Albany Creek Auskicker. In 2010, Alex was nominated as round 8 Auskicker of the Year which saw him travel to Melbourne twice; once for the famous drawn and then the second grand final between St Kilda and Collingwood. He presented Travis Cloake with the Grand Final medallion and made memories that very few other kids will ever imagine.

In 2011, Alex joined the Aspley Hornets and to date has played 111 games. He has twice been awarded the Les Parfitt Appreciation Award for his dedication and ongoing help towards the club.

In 2017 in conjunction with continuing to play Alex commenced club umpiring which has seen him go from strength to strength. He has progressed into youth umpiring and sees himself following in the footsteps of his club mate, Alex Whitten, who debuted at the Gabba during the Youth Umpires Appreciation weekend when the Brisbane Lions played Collingwood in Round 7, 2018.

During this round, Alex was fortunate enough to be selected as a representative of Youth Umpiring and join the senior umpires for the pre-match warm up, coin toss and meet and greet. He also caught up with Alex Whitten!
